Fickle Wisconsin Weather

Within a week's time, we have pretty much experienced all of the seasons in Wisconsin!  Before Easter it was summer-like, with temps in the high 70's.  Easter brought us beautiful, and typical, spring-like weather.

Then came rain...

And then came the sleet, which turned into this (I think it was close to six inches)...

Our poor magnolia blossoms!

Enjoying Spring Weather

With the snow finally gone, it's so much fun to visit Pamprin Park!
Erin checks out the grass. What a new discovery after ALL that snow this winter....
...and she learns how to sign "grass"

We were just a little bit early for the spawning trout.

Spotted in the Front Yard!

We have enjoyed the majority of our record breaking snow fall this year, but honestly, we are very ready for spring! The kids had great excitement over this discovery last weekend...

We had our first 60 degree day this week and the kids waisted no time gathering up the bubbles, sidewalk chalk, scooters and bikes!

Signs of Spring??

It never fails that sometime in February, regardless of snowstorms or freezing temperatures, our daffodils start to emerge in our front gardens. We think it is because we have a south facing house and when the sun is bright, it really heats up in the front, right near our house. That is the first place that we see the snow melting as well. At least I like to think that's the reason because otherwise it may mean that we have terrible insulation and the heat is pouring out our windows and siding. Ugh. Moira took these pictures on a morning after a beautiful snowfall.

And another sure sign that spring is just around the corner...the deer are starting to roam around again...

LOL. Just kidding.

"How Many More Years Until Spring?"

This title was a question that Aidan recently asked me. I think we were all thinking the same thing. After our long winter with record setting snowfall, we are all excited for spring! Here are a few pictures showing what we've been up to with the warmer weather.

Erin loves her new ride!

A visit to the creek to see the rainbow trout spawning (at least I think they were rainbow trout...could be wrong).

Lots of fun playtime here. The kids are masters at finding any item they can and then playing with it in an unusual way. We like to call it creative play. They do occasionally use jump ropes for jumping too; imagine that!
